Fivemiletown United Football Club are delighted to inform the club patrons and the wider community that we have been successful in our application to the Irish FA/DCMS Grassroots Facilities Investment Fund.
This fund is supported by the UK Government’s Department for
Culture, Media and Sport, is administered by the Irish FA supported by
Co-operation Ireland.
The funding will enable us to build a full-size FIFA quality 3g pitch with match standard floodlighting in partnership with Mid Ulster Council.
The club has steadily upgraded our facilities over the last number of years and has a development plan for the Valley Stadium with other exciting additions in the future pipeline.
We are confident that this latest phase will help meet the needs, not only of our current members, but also help us realise our ambition of becoming a sporting and community hub for the local and wider community.
This development will transform training and matches for our seniors, youth, mini soccer teams and wider community groups ensuring they have access to top-quality facilities that will help them achieve their best on the pitch.
Chairperson Davy McQuigg explains, β€œThis heralds a new beginning for the local sporting community in Fivemiletown and the surrounding areas and will enable the club to offer sporting and fitness opportunities to many more clubs and organisations.”
Irish FA CEO Patrick Nelson said: β€œGood grassroots football facilities means a better experience for everyone participating in the game, at whatever level they’re at.
This funding will provide 11 new artificial grass pitches and upgrade six existing pitches across Northern Ireland. It aligns with our commitment to support new and improved facilities and, with the hosting of the UEFA EURO 2028 in the UK and Ireland, it is crucial that the grassroots game across the nation benefits from investment too.

We would like to thank FundReady/S3Solutionsfor helping develop the bid and there on-going support of the project.

Further information and updates on the project will be provided in due course.
